“Mom! Mom!” I screamed as I splashed around in my monofin. “Can you videotape me after Eric?” She motioned me yes. I was SOO happy! I ran to my swimming bag and whipped on my mermaid tail with monofin. By the ledge of the pool, I splashed and swam and dipped in the pool, as Mom taped me.” I wanna seeeeeee! ” I said. My family watched the vids of Eric doing backflips off the diving board, and ME playing in my mermaid tail! It was really great experience!! I love using my tail! Espcially when it’s a recording! I love these tails!!! KISSES TO ALL!

    Mermaid Kallista says:

Sera suddenly appears and drives the shark off.
“I almost forgot!!!! Christmas is coming up! And what are we doing? Trying to save our butts!”
    “I didn’t forget.” Eden says.
    “Who wouldn’t?”
    My sister returns.
“Let’s find a place to stay,” she says. “Mind going back to our place?”
“No. Hold hands with me, everybody.” I think, I wish I was in a warm comfortable cave for the night. The familiar tingle o’ magic rushes up and dies down. I find myself in a cove that I often go to with Stripe when we watch the sunset. Letting go, I think, I wish this place looked like Christmas and home.
The room is furnished with beds, a lava pit, sort of like the landlubbers call a fireplace, a Christmas tree, stockings with our names etched in fancy cursive, and a rug. A coral chandelier hangs above, covered with holly and tinsel.
“Now that’s more like it.” Lastri says.
Eden clears her throat and says, “We’re probably going to be fighting someone on Christmas, so I want to give this to you.” She hands me a blue headband studded with elegant pieces of gold, silver, and the finest coral.
“Wow,” I say. “I don’t have to give anything to you, though. I already did.”
    “What?”
“You have my friendship and my love. That’s the best Christmas present anyone can give.”
She smiles as we sip tea by the hearth, feeling content with Christmas in the air.

      Mermaid Eden – Finisfriends says:

      Story: Christmas Magic

“This is officially the best Chrstmas ever!” I announced. We were all dancing around in the decorated room. Christmas day was only 4 days away, I could literally feel the magic around me.
“Hey Eden, aren’t we missing something?” Kallista motioned towards the tree.

“Oh yeah,” I remembered, I twirled around: red and green bubbles swirled up in my hands. I threw them at the tree, making it shimmer.
“I didn’t know you could do that.” My friend turned to look at me.

“It’s Christmas magic. Here try it.” I positioned her hands infront of her, “Just think of Christmas…”
Kallista closed her eyes and bubbles appeared in her hands too.
“Awesome!” She twirled. Sera tried too, but it wasn’t working,
“Why isn’t it working on me?” She asked, sounding disappointed.

“It takes practice.” I replied. Suddenly, something strange began happening, the walls almost looked as if they were closing in on us.

“Uh oh…” all three of us whispered together.
“We gave to get outta here!” Sera yelled, she battled the door to try and open it, but it was locked.
“Kallista! get us out of here!” I screamed as the room got thinner.

“Hold on!” The blonde mermaid was about to do something, that was all I saw before we were teleported into the distance.
I opened my eyes, and saw that we we’re in a dark, ghostly place. It felt vaguely familiar.

      “Where are we?” Sera asked.

“I’m not sure.” The blue tailed mermaid replied, looking around. Suddenly, it hit me and I remembered.
“I know where we are! This is the reef cave!”
I remembered the man talking to us about it, but I never expected it to look anything like this.

“Of course.” Kallista whispered, “But how did we end up here?”
“You sent us here didn’t you?” Sera wondered.
“No I didn’t, I’m not sure what sent us here.” I heard my friend reply.

“We have to find a way out of here.” I announced, I swam across the reef cave, even though it was too dark to see anything. I strained my eyes to look, until I saw a small blue light.
      What could that be?
I thought. “Kallista! Sera! Check this out.”
I felt a current that told me they had swam over.
      “What is that thing?”

I dug through the sand, as I did, I started to make out that the light was part of a ring. I tried to pull it out, “Ouch!” I moaned, I felt strong energy from it.
      “You okay?” Kallista asked me,

“That’s some insane magic.” I shook off my hand.
“Maybe it’s like the strongest story, here.” Kallista tried to pick it up, but her hand jerked back immediately, “Ow!” She whispered, “That’s wierd.”

      “Let me try.” Sera offered,
“That’s not a good idea, it seriously hurts.” I advised.
“Just let me try.” She told me, after a few nervous seconds, I watched Sera pick up the ring and slide it onto her finger.
“How did you do that?” The blonde girl asked.

“I don’t know,” the mermaid waved her hand and small bubbles made of light appeared. They floated up to the top of the cave, then popped.
      “THAT’S CLEO’S RING!” I blurted out.

“Well it looks like that’s ours now.” Sera stated, creating a massive bubble of light, it was much easier to see now.
“You’ve finally found it.” A thankful voice said. In a split second, the man we’d seen before materialised infront of us.

“Hi, we haven’t seen you in ages.” I greeted.
      “Who is this?” Sera wondered,
“I’ll tell you later.” Kallista smiled.
“Do you want to keep the ring?” I guessed.

“Not at all, it belongs to Sera now. Try using it.” He prompted.
The young mermaid tried to focus, and rainbow bubbles appeared,
“Yes!” She cheered, “I can make Christmas Magic!”
      “The ring will do that.”

“Let’s use our magic to get us out of here!” I suggested.

The three of us held up our hands and began glowing, the faint sound of Christmas music filled the water around us. Then we were back.

We spent the rest of the day dancing.

      Christmas is almost here

Brooke watches your videos all the time and asked Santa for a fun fun tail and bats all she wanted . It’s so adorable how much she is loving watching other kids on YouTube open their packages as well.
Before we found out about the finest, she saves her money to donate it to the veterans at stores no matter what day we go. We also look for people in need for help and today helped a little cute Grammy pump her gas in her car. We are not doing these things to win a tail , they truly come from the heart and we emphasize random acts of kindness in our home . Xoxoxo

Storytelling Mermaid Eden – Finisfriends says:

“So, Kallista, here’s what happened…” Was the first echoey sound I heard as I slipped back into consciousness. I opened my eyes slowly, and looked up at Kallista, and… a strange man?
“Eden, you’re awake!” She smiled at me.
“Kallista? How long was I out?” I asked, getting up.
“Just about five minutes, you didn’t miss much. This is… well… an old friend of mine.” Kallista smiled, motioning to the man in front of us.
“I- Is the book… closed?” I asked, turning to look at the book. It was. I wondered if the book being open was causing me to pass out all the time, but then my mind shifted back to what was going on now.
“Yeah, it’s closed. Anyway, what were you saying about you helped Cleo and made a mistake?”

    “It’s a very long story.”
    I twirled around,
“I’m all for long stories! Come on, tell us!”
Kallista nudged me gently, and I calmed down. The man sat down and sighed, looking distant, and he began to tell us what had happened.
“This happened several waves (years) ago. Cleo was a gentle mermaid, she loved to help other merpeople, and didn’t hesitate to use her bubble powers for any good reason. I used to spend a lot of time with her, she used to be so amazing. But, things changed overtime.”

By now, I was in my desperate mode, when I really wanted answers,
“What do you mean, things changed overtime?” Kallista and I asked at the same time. The man sighed in slight disappointment.
“One day, I was exploring the coral reef in the Pacific Ocean and Cleo was with me… but when we were nearly half way in the coral reef, Cleo told me that she had lost something important. It was her bubble ring, she was never caught without it, and that was what she used to contain most of her magic. Almost like your wand Kallista.”

He looked at Kallista, who stared at the wand in her hand. “Anyway, we searched and searched for it, but we couldn’t find it anywhere, every day for a week we were searching the coral reef. But it was nowhere to be found, Cleo swam off, crying that she had lost it. Days later, I tried to talk to Cleo but she was too upset about her bubble ring to talk to anyone or help anyone. That wasn’t the only problem, since the ring contained most of her powers, she barely had any magic at all. After a month of waiting, Cleo decided to look for the ring in the reef cave, and as usual, I came with her.”

I gasped, the reef cave was forbidden to all merpeople because of it’s intense magic. “She went inside with me, but suddenly, a piece of shadow coral trapped her, I remember swimming out of the way, but instead Cleo got caught. Suddenly I saw a black mist surround Cleo, when she came out she was so excited, she hadn’t found her ring, but she had gotten her magic back. It was ten times more powerful. Just before we left the cave, I found the Strongest Story, and picked it up, Soon, Cleo began to forget about helping others and she just spent time using her powers, she began to take over certain areas of the Ocean. When I tried to tell her to stop, she trapped me inside the Strongest Story, and for that, my best friend was banished from the Seven Seas. If I had just found her ring, then this wouldn’t have happened.”

Kallista’s mouth had dropped open, and I felt as if I was about to faint again.
“That it!” I gasped, “This ties everything together! No wonder opening the Strongest Story was hurting me the same way being near Cleo was!”
Kallista took a little bit longer to speak,
“I don’t believe it, YOU found the strongest story!”
The man nodded and then put his hands to his face and sighed.
“Come on, I think yo need to rest,” I sighed, the man looked at me, “Maybe you could stay with us for a while, there’s a hotel we could go it. We could talk more there?” I offered, even though he didn’t look in the mood for telling another long story. Wearily, he nodded and we both helped him up.

      Mermaid Kallista says:

Story: An Old Friend for Lastri, A New Friend For Eden
“Hey, since you’re here, I want to get an old friend of yours, Lastri,” I say to the man. “Give me a second.”
I come back a moment later. I’m not alone.
“Lastri?! Oh Lastri, I missed you!” my eight-year-old sister says, nearly tackling the man. Her caramel brown hair sprawls everywhere, her dark green tail flashing.
“Woah, hold on a sec,” I say. I turn to Eden. “This is my sister, Serafina. Sera, meet my friend Eden.” She just gaps in wonder at Eden.
      “H-hi.”
      “Nice to meet you.”
“Can you give me a second? Coral is upset.”
“Who?” Eden asks, but she’s already gone. I explain.
“Her pet seahorse. She knows because she has the power to feel the emotion of an animal. She can talk to them too, but they answer in her head.”
      Suddenly, a shark looms overhead.
      “LOOK OUT!!!”
      To be continued…

Storytelling Mermaid Eden – Finisfriends says:

I watched Kallista swim off into the distance, I wished i could help her, but there was no way I could help without getting hurt myself. The worst part about it, was that Cleo’s previous attack was still fresh in my mind, I remembered when she drained my magic, and that was because I had a rare power, if Kallista, who had many powers got attacked like that, I didn’t want to imagine what she would feel. “Be careful Kallista.” I whispered quietly. The caarixa swam up to Cleo,
“I’ve heard a lot about you Cleo.” She began,
“I’ve heard a lot about you too, you’re… The One right?”
“Yes I am, and I will make sure you are out of the seven seas for good!”

I gasped, I knew that a comment like that wouldn’t go down well with Cleo.
“Really now?” She circled Kallista in a menacing voice, “You’ve heard a lot about me right? That means you’ve heard about my ability to take merpowers!”
The One nodded ever so slowly, beginning to look nervous, “You know what? That isn’t a bad idea!”
I gasped, Cleo created a large green bubble in her hands. I swam as fast as I could, up to my friend.
“KALLISTA NO!” At that moment, Cleo threw the bubble, I was really close to Kallista at that point, so half of the bubble hit me, and the other half hit Kallista. it exploded and dissolved into tiny ones that floated off, but we didn’t have such a gentle landing. We were both sent flying and crash landed to the sand. We both groaned as the air was smacked out of our lungs. Kallista was the first to recover from the blow, she sat up.

“Ow.” She rubbed her forehead, “Eden, are you okay?” She asked me. Nodding, I too sat up.
“Man, I HATE that mermaid!” I suddenly became aware of the bruises that were all over me and Kallista. My orange tail was the only thing that wasn’t injured, and if I was in human form, that blow would have seriously hurt my legs. Then I focused on our present situation, “Okay, do you think you could try and get her?” I asked.
“I’ll try, but that is one tough mermaid.”
“Yeah, she was banished from the seven seas.”

I finally gathered enough energy to pull myself and Kallista up, “Do you think you have a power that can work on her?”
“Yeah, I think i could do something to shield us, but I’ll need your power too.”
I nodded, “Okay, hold up your hands and we should be able to create a forcefield.”
The two of us held our hands up, and a bubble made of water and mermagic surrounded us.
“Really is that all you’ve got?” Taunted Cleo, she threw a ball of green magic at us, but the shield managed to deflect it. Cleo looked slightly impressed. “I see. Okay then, let me try this!” This time, she used her magic to make another ball of power, but it was made purely of shadow mermagic. It hit the shield and cracked it. Kallista fell back into my arms. I was about to end Cleo and end her hard, but when I looked up, she had disappeared. “Oh no!” I whispered to myself, she always does this, she attacks, then leaves.
I looked at the unconscious mermaid, and laid her down on the sand, I make Cleo pay for this, The One slowly opened her eyes.
“W- what just… happened?” She whispered.
    “You’re safe now, Cleo disappeared-”
    “WHAT? AGAIN?” Kallista gasped.
“Yeah, I know, it’s annoying. Are you alright?”
“I… guess so… It just drains me when I use my powers so much.”
“Same here. But I don’t think we’ll have to deal with this much longer! Because we are going to get her this time!” I announced.

We both swam into the distance, ready for our new mermaid mission

      Mermaid Kallista says:

“I have an idea,” l say. “Hold my hand.” I had forgotten my strongest power and l was ready to use it. l think, l wish l knew where Cleo was. My magic goes to work and l find myself right next to Cleo. I sweep into action. Half-chanting, half using songspell, I say my next words in a tone so dreadful, even Cleo shivers.
“Cleo looks hard at Kallista. She wants to kill her bad. Seeing Eden beside her, she says nastily, ‘We meet twice, Eden. And you’re the fried fish.’ ”
Cleo says exactly that. I smile. It’s working! l continue.
“Kallista says, ‘My name’s not Eden.’ ”
The words tumble out of my mouth before l can stop them. Good. l push on.
“Cleo tries hard to attack Kallista. Every drop of magic she uses gets wasted, for it never seemed to harm her. And, just as Cleo is sure that it was over, Kallista, using magic, says, ‘Ech no maria manana oi te nana tu!’ and Cleo groans in pain as her limbs are squeezed so badly it crushes her heart and brain.
Suddenly, the Book flips to a random page and writes, I WILL KILL YOU CLEO and flings itself at her! Finally, after so much pain, she closes her eyes and dies.”
Cleo, mad now, tries to kill me with magic, but the magic I had been using was so strong, it obeyed my every word. I say loudly, “Fool of the Devil, be banished from the Devil’s grasp, for you have let the Devil down!” That’s what ech no maria manana oi te nana tu means. After all my narration has been done, a dark, wind-like shadow emerges from the pages. l know what l have to do.
Reaching in, l pull out the shadow and bring it to life.
“Thank you,” the man I had pulled out said.
      Eden faints.
“Hello.” I know the man. He was a fortune-teller and the last time I saw him, he told me that l was to find my truth to save the world. I didn’t understand him then. I do now.
      “l was waiting for you.”
“How did you get in the Book?”
      A hesitation.
“Because I helped Cleo and made a mistake.”
      “WHAT?!”

    Continued from the previous story

    “Cleo?!”
Suddenly I groaned in pain, even Cleo’s presence seemed to be hurting me now. Kallista was next to me, focusing partially on me and partially on the stuck up mermaid in front of us.
“Well hello,” Cleo grinned nastily, “So we meet again Eden.”
I wanted so badly to wipe that grin right off of her face, and if it wasn’t for my friend stopping me, I would have. I held my forehead, trying to get rid of the pain. Kallista swam in front of me looking serious,
“Go, now. I’ll deal with Cleo.” Kallista decided.
“No way.” I shook my head, I didn’t care how much pain I felt from being around my enemy, I was prepared to get her there and then. “I’m going to get her!”
Kallista waved her hand and she used her magic to briefly cancel my powers. I’d totally forgotten about her new magic. I then felt it again, and it wasn’t just pain; this time, I felt like my strength was actually fading.
“You aren’t going anywhere! Being around her is hurting you, am I right?”
Slowly, but reluctantly, I nodded. “I thought so.”
The mermaid let me sit down on one of the rocks. “If I need you I’ll call you, but in the meantime, you need to get your strength back.”
I gave Cleo a hard stare, and she just grinned harder.
“But Kallista, you don’t know what you’re up against!”
Kallista looked at me and replied,
“Well we’re about to find out!”

    Mermaid Kallista says:

Story: A Book in the Hand is Worth Several Battles…To Save the Seven Seas
“Hi Eden!” l recognize the mermaid in front of me. She whirls.
    “Kallista?”
    “Yep.”
“How- how did- wha- how did you get here?”
“Something new. I found it recently.”
    “What?” She asks suspiciously.
    “l’m rare.”
    “Huh?”
“Not only do I have powers, I have dozens of them.”
Her eyes widen. She falls to the seabed, stunned. Finally she gathers the courage to speak.
    “That’s impossible!”
    “Not anymore.”
    “Give me an example.”
“Fine,” l say. “Hold my hand.”
I gather up all magic abilities I have and think, I wish I could go to where The Strongest Story was.
The familiar wind l’d been practicing with encircles us, pops with color, and dies down.
“Where are we? How’d you do that?” Again, I gather up magic and say in an old form of Mermish,
“Gelii oc danke kon.” Only magic, my sister.
    “What’d you say?”
l repeat what l said. l also tell her where we are and why.
    “OK….but it’s gonna hurt a lot.”
We find the book. I move my hands around. I sensed magic, but for some reason it didn’t feel strong.
    “OK. Here goes.”
    l reach for the book.
l touch its cover. And feel…
    only pinpricks?!
Shakily, I carefully slide the cover back. I don’t notice Eden staring in horror. Then, I start to read.
    It says,

Congradulations. You have opened this book. But beware…what you are about to read in the next pages are strange forces of magic and no other mermaid could describe it. Be careful, you young hero, Kallista. It is easier to lie when you don’t know the truth. You are the one mermaid, the One who will eventually save all tides. I am depending on you. So are your friends. They do not know it yet.
    Signed,
    The Strongest Story

Wait…it wrote itself out just seconds before I touched it?! l thought. l turn the page…and hear a squeal.
    “You READ it?!?!”
l had forgotten that Eden was with me.
“I-I guess. It’s strange, this Book is so powerful, so full of magic, no one can touch it. But I…I touched it.”
    “I know.”
I smile and continue to read. Then I find something.
“Hey look! I figured out why mermaids might have powers! It says here that one person, called the One, has dozens of them.”
lt dawned on me suddenly that the Book wasn’t lying. I was the One!
l turned to tell Eden…but she seemed to be in pain. She disappears. Then, l meet one of her worst enemies that she faced about 5 months ago.
    “Cleo?!”

    Mermaid Kallista says:

    Story: A Rare Power
Though I know tons of spells, I never thought I’d have a power. But I found one on a perfect sunny day. It happened when I was learning spells.
“No, no. It’s Lardia Photei, not Lardia Photien!” Mama scolds.
    “Sorry, Mama.”
This time I do it correctly.
“Yes, yes! Perfect!” Mama says. I thought, I wish I didn’t have to learn spells at the moment.
A wind only I seemed to feel picks up, and I see popping, crackling bursts of color. Then it fades.
“You know what? I think you have had enough for today. Go explore.” Mama says.
Odd, I thought. I send for Stripe.
“Let’s go diving off the rocks!” he says.
“You know what? Something odd happened a few minutes ago and I wonder if I can do it again.” I say. “Hold my hand.”
I think, I wish I can visit the Mermaiden Eden.
The wind picks up, and I see the popping, crackling bursts of color. Then it fades again.
It works! I thought> then I go off to explore with Eden. However, the strong magic I used gets at me, and I catch a cold. But my magic is new and powerful, and though I have to control it, I’m happy with my new power!

I woke up on my birthday morning as excited as I have ever been I rushed to the kitchen ate bacon and eggs and went out the door to school ( this took place on Thursday October 1st) I came home and sat at the table me and my bffs sleepover was the following Saturday so it was just a family party. I opened all my presents and went outside by my pool and put my feet in the water and looked at the sky. Then I noticed something my legs were replaced with a mermaid like tail I stared in shock and took my tail out of the water. WOAH this is so cool, I said Im a mermaid!! In about 5 minutes of my tail being out of the water my tail was again my normal human legs. I ran to my mom and screamed MOM IM A MERMAID!! she didn’t believe me at first until I jumped in the water and my legs once again were replaced with a tail. My mom stared in shock as I once did when I found out I was a mermaid. I swam around the pool and said SEE SEE SEE!!! IM RIGHT IM ACTUALLY A MERMAID I TOLD YOU MERMAIDS ARE REAL!! my mom looked at me, smiled, and said I now know that mermaids ARE real. I took my tail out of the pool waited 5 minutes and my tail became legs again I ran to my mom and hugged her. Mom this is the best birthday ever, I said.

I was in my bedroom at home, well, my land home that is, when I suddenly felt unbelievably dizzy. I stumbled backwards and fell onto the bed, I wondered what was going on. After the dizzy spell had died down, I stood up and looked at my calendar it read the 9th of October. I had learned special mermaid dates off by heart and couldn’t remember anything. Today was the tsunami splash. That was it.
I decided to go outside to rest.

As I relaxed, I decided to practice my powers. I wiggled my fingers, and the water in my pool instantly rose. However, the water splashed all over me (my legs especially).
I watched my tail materialize, I then sighed in frustration What was wrong with me? This couldn’t have anything to do with the tsunami splash could it?
After five minutes, my tail went away. I decided to go for a walk to the nearby lake to see if any mermaids could help. I drew in air and dived underwater, the second my tail appeared, I found that I could breathe normally underwater.

Suddenly, I started to feel faint “No, not now!” I groaned. Fighting to stay conscious, I swam to the bottom of the lake. I looked around for any sign of mermaids, I couldn’t see anyone, I wondered where they were, the lake was practically empty. Well, I saw a fluther of jellyfish but they couldn’t help. My vision began to turn grey, I couldn’t stay awake anymore. I fell to the lakebed, passed out.

“Her colour’s coming back!” I heard a voice whisper, I felt something warm and soothing on my skin,
“The hot pack should do it.” Another voice whispered. Groaning, I opened my eyes, my vision was still a bit blurred.
“W- where am I?” I whispered. I looked around, I was in a beautiful, purple coral house. I saw a blonde haired girl swim up to me, she had a bright, ocean blue tail that glittered in the underwater sunlight.

“How’re you feeling sweetie?” She asked, her voice was kind and delicate.
“Fine.” I answered quickly, I tried to sit up, but it was really hard, I felt really weak. I was definitely not fine. “Who are you?” I asked.

“I’m Ophiris, a lake mermaid.” She told me,
    “I’m Eden, a half mermaid.” I replied.
I tried to move but I just ended up straining my already sore tail. “Ouch!” I moaned.
“No, no, no, don’t get up.” Ophiris whispered in a gentle tone, “You’re still a bit pale, stay in bed.”

Storytelling Mermaid Eden – Finisfriends says:

    Story: A powerful answer

A few days later, Kalista had left to go back to her home in the Pacific Ocean. I missed her so much and it had only been a few weeks. But now I had hours of relaxation with my angefish finfriend Bow. I sat on a coral branch, watching the baby fish swimming about, when something popped up in my head. “Hey, Bow?” I whispered.
    “Yeah?” The pink angelfish replied.
“How do you think I got my storytelling powers?” I asked, Bow looked puzzled by the question.
“I don’t know. Weren’t you born with them?” She wondered.
“Yeah, but I’m not a mermaiden.” I pointed out.

I flapped my sunrise coloured tail and watched it shimmer. I’d had powers as long as I could remember, which was pretty far back. Princess Brynn had crowned me a mermaiden a few months ago, but I had my powers way before then. They had also been enhanced recently by a magical book called ‘the strongest story’. I had an incredible history with my powers and didn’t know where they had come from.

I began to wonder whether I was impersonating or whether I was given my magical power by mistake. I couldn’t have! Otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to enhance them.

Either way, I was more than proud of my powers. I thought about the many merpeople who would have loved to be in my position. Princess of the Northern Atlantic, AND mysterious magical powers. I watched a small mergirl swimming around, she looked about ten, two years younger than me. Her tail was bright pink, she had lovely brown hair and reminded me of Kallista. Suddenly, I saw her float above the rocks. Then she collapsed.

I gasped and swam up to the girl,
“Are you alright?” I asked offering a hand.
“Yeah. My name’s Brielle!” She took my hand and I tried to help her up but she suddenly flinched in pain and fell down again. I looked at her fin, it was slightly ripped, not badly, but not good either.

“Here.” I whispered, I sat down next to the girl and layed her tail beside me. “There once was a tail that needed repairing.” I whispered. I watched the girl’s tail glow for a second before the tear dissapeared.
She got up and looked at me,
“Are you… Princess Eden the storytelling mermaid?” Brielle asked me in shock.
    “Yeah,” I smiled.
“Wow! I think you’re awesome! Especially with your powers!” She announced.

    I smiled,
“Thanks. I don’t actually know how I got them.” I replied, wondering if I should have said that.
“Really? Well, my mom knows lots about mermaid magic! Let me take you to her.” She offered, trying to act sophisticated, mostly because I was a mermaiden.

I nodded and I swam with Brielle, ready to meet my answer.

Storytelling Mermaid Eden – Finisfriends says:

      Story: Brielle’s Power
      Continued from a powerful answer

I nodded and swam with Brielle, ready to meet my answer.

Suddenly I heard a voice in the distance, it sounded like someone was yelling, we followed to sound until we saw a massive shark was chasing a green tailed woman. Brielle gasped, “That’s my mom!”
“HELP!” She screamed down at us, I swam up to the shark and tried to use my powers,
“There once was a shark that disappeared!” I shouted. But my powers didn’t work, I remembered, when a mermaid is panicked, their powers won’t work properly. But Brielle didn’t seem worried at all, I looked at her and saw she had a look of pure concentration on her face, she stared at a coral branch and it suddenly grew at dolphin speed. The coral grew towards the shark, terrified and confused, it swam off.
I couldn’t believe what I had just seen, an ordinary mergirl with powers. Maybe that’s what people thought when they saw me use powers as a little girl too. But seriously, how many mermaids had powers without being mermaidens? It was a pretty scary thought.

“Mom!” Brielle threw her arms around the woman, it was really cute. I swam over to them and her mom gasped,
      “I-is that?”
“Yes mom.” She finished, “This is Princess Eden, she helped me when my fin got injured. She also wanted to know something.”
“Nice to meet you.” I greeted,
“You too, princess. I’m Allie, Now, what is it you want to know about?” She asked,
“My powers.” I replied, “I’ve had them for a long time but I don’t know how I got them without being a born mermaiden…” I explained. Allie flapped her tail in fascination.
“I see.” She replied, “Well, I might be able to help you figure some things out, my daughter Brielle has powers without being a mermaiden.”
“Yeah, I have nature control powers!” Brielle explained, I watched her tap on a seaweed patch and it grew up to her height, small flowers even sprouted from it.
“Come, I’ll show you something.” Allie told me.

        Mermaid Kallista says:

I found out today I had powers since I was born, especially the one I first discovered. Over the past days I realized I had a lot more than one. They were so small I didn’t realize that my mother tried to hide them by making my family caarixae. I’m bound to squeeze out why she did that. I wonder why I have powers, even though I’m not Mermaiden…I know that I don’t have to imagine having a storytelling power because I have a special type of it. Instead of saying out loud, I narrate my entire life in my head so I can make myself do something before it happens. I can teleport! I can travel through time! I can wave a hand over myself and change my entire appearance, even my skin color! I’m going to meet up with Eden tomorrow to see if I can be half mer, which I think I can because of how many mysterious, energy-consuming powers I have. I’m gonna tell you about my adventure with Eden tomorrow soon. I wonder if I can touch, or even read The Strongest Story with Eden…

Storytelling Mermaid Eden – Finisfriends says:

    Story: Mermaid Kallista!

One day I was swimming around the Atlantic Ocean when I saw a blue tailed mermaid, she had wavy hair and I recognised her immediately. I swam up to the girl, “Hi.” She whispered, suddenly she paused and looked at me hard, “Hey, I think I’ve seen you before, are you mermaid Eden? The Mermaid Princess that was made an honorary mermaiden by Princess Brynn?” She asked in awe.

“Yeah, I’ve seen you too, you’re Kallista, right? You’re a caarixa from the Pacific Ocean?” I asked,
    “I am yeah.” Kallista explained.
“What brings you to the Atlantic Kallista? Shouldn’t Stripe be with you?” I asked.
“I’m just on vacation for a while, and Stripe is back at our hotel.”
“Do you want me to show you around?” I asked.

“Sure.” Kallista answered excitedly. We both swam off into the distance and explored the coral reefs, the seaweed forest, clamshell cave, and then we came up to a pretty cold one, the frozen caves. “Wow.” The caarixa whispered.
“Are you sure you want to go in there, it’s really cold, especially for a Pacific mermaid.” I warned. But Kallista was a really brave mermaid, she dove into the cave with me and we had a look for some magical ice crystals for Kallista’s hotel room.

When we came out of the caves we came out with a massive pile of snow stones and crystals.
“That was good wasn’t it?” I asked my new friend.
“Y-yeah.” She replied, still shivering. I started to get a little bit anxious.
“Hey, Are you feeling okay? You’re looking a bit pale.” I implied.
    “Yeah, I’m okay.” Kallista replied.

We swam back to my palace and I let Kallista and Stripe sleep in the guest bedroom.

The next morning I swam into Kallista’s room and saw that she was still sleeping, suddenly, Stripe swam up to me and gasped,
“Oh My, are you… Princess Eden of the Atlantic?” He asked me with the same amazement that Kallista had earlier.
“Yes, hi Stripe.” I waved, “How come Kallista isn’t up yet? Does she sleep in normally?” I guessed.
“No,” He replied, surprised at his fin friend’s exhaustion, “She’s normally up earlier than me, and I wake up VERY late.”

“Kallista…” I whispered, gently shaking the caarixa. I gasped when I saw how flushed the mermaid looked, her eyes were half open and she didn’t look good at all.
    “mmmmpppphhhf… Eden?” She groaned.
“What’s wrong are you okay?” I asked.
“Not really,” She replied, “I think the frozen caves were a bit too cold.” She implied.
“I think so too!” I agreed, “Maybe you should rest for today.” I suggested.

Kallista nodded but then started coughing, I rubbed her back slowly and then felt her forehead. “Hmmm… you aren’t that hot, but your cold is still quite bad.” I whispered.
“I know.” The mermaid groaned, “I’m never going near any frozen caves ever- A-CHOO! -again.” Kallista sneezed.
“Just lie down. How many more days are you on vacation for?” I asked.
    “Six more.” She replied weakly.
“Then we can explore more when you feel better.” I said positively.
    The caarixa nodded,

“Can you try and use your storytelling powers to heal me?” She asked, “My spells are pretty weak when I get sick.”
I put my hands on Kallista’s chest,
“There once was a mermaid that needed healing…” I whispered. Some colour returned to Kallista’s flushed cheeks. “Did it work?” I asked.
“Well, the headache’s gone, but I think it’s still there.” She explained.
“You should feel better in a day or so.” I explained, “Maybe you should get some sleep.” I suggested. My new friend nodded and drifted off almost immediately.

I can’t wait to chill with Kallista!

Storytelling Mermaid Eden – Finisfriends says:

      Story: Finfriends are forever

“Hey Kallista! Feeling better?” I popped up from the end of the caarixa’s bed head, my golden-orange tail flapping gracefully behind me.
“Much better, thanks.” She replied. “Come on let’s go and explore.”
I loved exploring and so did Kallista, maybe as much as me. I suddenly saw a sunset shell, one of the rarest Atlantic shells.

“Wow, look at that shell!” I gasped in awe.
“Here, let me get it.” Kallista offered, swimming up to it. She touched it, and immediately a net fell from nowhere and pinned her to the sand, then her eyes closed shortly after.

“Kallista!” I yelled, but seconds later I got pinned to the ground too as another net caught me. I tried to struggle out of the net, but then I saw that the ropes had black moss on it, it was like some sort of sleeping plant that only affected mermaids.

That was the last thing I saw before I fell asleep.

      “Psst… Eden!”
I heard a quiet voice in my ear, I moaned slightly before I sat up. It was Kallista. I saw that we were in a very dark underwater cave, it was just bright enough to see Kallista. I instantly felt bad energy in the cave.

      “Where are we?” I whispered.
“I’m not sure…” The caarixa replied. I could see it the distance that there were magic coral bars on the cave entrance.
“We’re trapped!” I whispered, swimming up to the entrance with Kallista.

She tried one of her songspells, but nothing happened, the mermaid turned to me in confusion.
“Why isn’t it working? I have my wand!” Kallista wondered.

I tried to use my storytelling powers.
“There once were bars that needed breaking!” I called, but I got worried when I didn’t even glow.
“What’s wrong with us?” My friend whispered in shock.

“I’m not sure. But I don’t feel… so good.” I gasped, feeling suddenly weak. I guess I was being affected by the dark energy in the cave. I fell back, but Kallista caught me.
“Whoa! Are you okay?” She asked, fanning water in my face as she helped me sit down.

“We have to get… out of… here.” My voice got quieter with every word, then I felt incredibly tired and my head slumped onto my shoulder. Kallista helped me to lie down.

“What do you think is happening?” Kallista asked me.
      “Not… sure.” I replied quietly, “Maybe it… was the… sunset shell…”

“Of course!” The caarixa clicked her fingers in realisation, “But who do you think trapped us?”
      That, I couldn’t answer.
      I shrugged,
“I don’t know but… we have to get out… of here. The bad energy in here is… draining both of us… of our magic.” I coughed. I then tried, and failed, to sit up.

“Are you too weak to swim?” Kallista asked me.
“Why?” I questioned. Managing to sit up this time.
“We are going to find a way out of here!” She announced. Seconds later we were swimming across the opposite side of the cave, it seemed to go on forever.

Suddenly I heard Kallista coughing and then I saw her sinking to the seabed.
“Are you okay?” I asked, catching the mermaid before she hit the ground, the dark power was starting to affect her too.

“I think I know what this is.” She replied, the caarixa’s voice sounded really unclear.

“It’s… a… mermaid trap.” She whispered.
“I thought those were… just a myth!” I replied. I had never seen one before, I had heard about divers making them but I had never believed it.

“I thought so too… Stripe always talked about them though.”
Suddenly, I heard a voice at the end of the cave, and so did Kallista.
      “Kallista!” One voice called.
“Eden, are you in there?” Another one called.

I gasped, I recognised the voice immediately, it was my Angelfish finfriend Bow. Kallista also looked surprised, for the other voice was Stripe, her zebrafish finfriend.

“Bow?” I called out weakly, I barely had any strength left and I doubted that she could hear me. I turned my head to Kallista, “Do you think… you can… shout any louder than me?” I asked.

The caarixa nodded and called out, her voice was quiet too but at least it was audible.
“Stripe! Bow! We’re… in… here!” Kallista then started coughing a bit.

“We’ll get you out of there don’t worry!” Bow yelled out to us. I smiled at my friend, but I didn’t know how she could get us out because one: She was too small, two: I was too exhausted to even go to the entrance, so how would I get out? And three: I didn’t want either of them to get hurt.

Suddenly, I heard the coral bars cracking. I looked up, how were they doing that? Then when I squinted to look at the entrance, I saw many other sea creatures helping to break through. Seconds later, a blast of underwater sunlight hit me hard. It was open.

My friend and I still had a problem though, how would we get out of here? Luckily, our finfriends had thought of that too. A long seaweed rope had been thrown into the cave.
“Grab on to it!” Stripe yelled to us. Kallista grabbed onto the rope, and so did I.

I seconds, the rope was being pulled out, along with us, but when we got outside, exhaustion finally overcame us. Suddenly, everything turned fuzzy, and then turned black.

I was waking up, and I heard Bow whispering,
“Eden looks really warm.” I also heard Stripe next to me saying,
      “Kallista still looks hot…”
“You don’t know what that sounds like!” I heard Kallista reply.

My eyes fluttered open, I was back at my palace (I’m an honorary mermaiden by the way). I was in my comfortable bed, and Kallista was in one next to me.
“What happened?” I asked, rubbing my forehead.

“You and Kallista passed out, it’s the next day. I wouldn’t be surprised. Barely anyone could last too long in a mermaid trap.” Stripe explained.
“Do you feel better?” Bow asked.

“A bit. But I feel weak.” I replied. Holding my head.
“Me too,” the caarixa replied, “Do our powers work?” At the question I turned to Stripe.
“Don’t use them yet!” Stripe ordered, “You’re still recovering.”

“Yeah, you guys got a fever from being around that dark water!” Bow clarified.
I felt my forehead, I then knew what she was talking about.
“How long do we have to stay like this?” I asked.

“You guys just need to rest for the day!” Bow explained.
Kallista and I both groaned. Another day stuck indoors.

“But we have something for you!” Bow grinned. She knocked over a seaweed basket, and out fell a new golden coral wand for Kallista, and a new pearl and shell tiara for me.

We each petted our fin friends as a thank you, and looked at the tag on the gifts. They read, ‘Finfriends are forever.’

      All for now guys!

Storytelling Mermaid Eden – Finisfriends says:

I was swimming with my Sparkle in the coral reefs (Who also has storytelling powers), and I was enjoying it, being around there really helped with my reflexes. “Hey Eden, check this out!” Sparkle called. As I floated past some red, precious coral, I felt it scratch me and I gripped my hand. I looked at the scratch on my palm, it didn’t look so bad I swam up to my friend, flapping my orange tail.
“Yeah.” I replied swimming up to my blue tailed friend.
    “Check this out.”
Suddenly, my chest felt really tight, I coughed slightly and felt my forehead as it heated up. “Are you okay?” Sparkle asked me.
“I think I have a fever or something.” I replied weakly. Sparkle put her hand on my head and felt it. She instantly pulled away.
“OMG, your really hot! What happened?”
    “I- I’m not… sure.” I replied, beginning to feel a bit faint.
“You need to sit down.” Sparkle helped me sit down, and she then caught sight of my scratched hand, “What happened to your hand?” Sparkle asked.
“I scratched it on precious coral.” I replied.
“That’s it!” Sparkle gasped, “Precious Coral has very weird effects on mermaids.”
I then muttered something that even I couldn’t understand, then I blacked out.

later on, I awoke on the seabed, I still felt really weak, but I could handle it, especially after tackling the strongest story’s effects.
“S-Sparkle?” I whispered, my eyes were half open, “How long was I out?”
    “A few minutes.” Sparkle replied.
“Did you remove the coral scratch with your powers?”
“Storytelling magic won’t work against nature Eden, remember?”
“Oh yeah.” I whispered, “By the way, do you think I’m still warm?” I asked, Sparkle checked my forehead, then replied,
“You aren’t nearly as hot as you were before but since you still feel faint you should probably take it easy.”
I nodded as my friend helped me to my feet, but then I turned to look at her as a thought struck me.
“How did you know that I-?” I began, but Sparkle answered it for me.
“I can tell because you’re scales always go a little bit darker than usual when you’ve lost some power.”
I was surprised. That had never happened to me before but I then remembered that the strongest story might have done this. I waved and swam off into the distance.

Storytelling Mermaid Eden – Finisfriends says:

Story: Eden and the strongest story

It was mid morning, and I was playing around, until I heard a familiar voice. “Eden! Where are you?” The voice belonged to Bow, the pink angelfish. The two of us were very good friends, and both equally as energetic.
“Hi Bow! What are you doing here?” I asked.
“Look what I’ve found, hurry!” Bow yelled dragging me along by the hand, she’s the strongest angelfish I’ve ever seen.
She stopped when we landed at a coral patch, trapped in the coral, was an ancient- looking book.

It was surrounded by a golden glow, it was really different from any books I’d ever seen.
“What is that?” I asked, picking up the massive object and flapping my purple tail.
“I wanted to see if you could use your powers on it.” Bow explained.
“Why? What will happen?” I asked.
“It’s said that very few merpeople can read this book, I wondered if you could do it.”

I nodded in response, I touched the front cover. I could immediately sense mermagic inside it, it was really strong too. I tapped the cover with my nail and shuddered slightly, as a small amount of power shook through me from head to tail.
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” I asked, growing more nervous.
“I’m sure. Just try it.” The angelfish encouraged.

I slowly opened the front cover and suddenly the storytelling power inside me was rushing through my veins like fire. I clutched my forehead in my two hands and yelled as a burning sensation swirled around inside me. The book fell to the seabed. A strong pain ripped through my brain, it was so intense that I could barely see anything, even with my eyes open, then the sea began spinning. I felt like I was blacking out, but at the same time, I was reading every word in the book, seven hundred words per second. I could hear the book’s pages flipping at hyper speed. Something in the book read about half- mermaids. Suddenly the book slammed shut and then I felt a final jolt of energy hit me before I fell to the ground. I had frozen up. I couldn’t say anything, a groan escaped my mouth though.

“You did it. Are you okay?” Bow asked me. When I got back the strength to talk, I turned my head to Bow.
“Ugh! I feel like I’ve been up on the surface for too long.” I mumbled, I put a hand to my forehead, the pain had gone but so had my strength. I sat up slowly,
“I’m surprised you could even touch the book, your power must be really strong.” Bow smiled at me. She was right, I had felt like my powers had been upgraded somehow. “How are you feeling?”
I groaned again as I stood up, I felt so shaky and tense.
“I’ve never felt so weak before… but I’m sure it’ll pass.”

“What did the book say?” The angelfish wondered.
“It…” I began, I suddenly felt dizzy again and had to sit down. The book had made me stronger, but the process had made me feel really tired.
“Whoa! Take it easy!” Bow warned. I put a hand to my chest as I tried to heal myself.
“There once was a mermaid that needed strength!”
Suddenly I became outlined in an orange glow, (that never happened before) I felt all the tension dissapear from my body, and then the glow suddenly winked out.

“Whoa, my powers are stronger.” I whispered, staring at my palms.
“How did that happen?” Bow asked.
“Not sure, but I know who to ask.” I was about to swim off but Bow stopped me by swimming in front of me.
“Wait. Are you sure you’re okay?” She asked me.
“I’m fine, that book has enhanced my powers.”
“If you’re sure. I’m coming with you!” Bow decided. I giggled slightly and swam off into the distance with my friend.

I was swimming along, until I came across someone familiar by the coral bed, she had a blue tail and she had brown hair and pale skin. She was my friend Sparkle. Sparkle also had storytelling powers like me, I think that’s what made us the closest. “Hey, Eden, hey Bow.” Sparkle waved, swimming over to me.
“Hi Sparkle.” I replied, I was unaware of how drained I sounded, but I quickly picked up on that when Sparkle pointed it out,
“Hey, what’s wrong? You seem exhausted.”
    I nodded slightly,
“Yeah, I know, I’m just worn out because I-”
“SHE OPENED THE STRONGEST STORYBOOK!” Bow blurted out, I flashed Bow an angry look and was about to say something to her, but I was stopped when I saw Sparkle’s shocked expression.

“You opened the strongest storybook? Are you kidding?” She asked.
“No… I actually opened it.” I answered nervously.
“I’m a storytelling mermaid and even I can’t open it! What did it feel like?”
“It was quite painful at first but then I felt like something large had happened to me. Like I could be in two places at once, or be like two people at once.”
Sparkle nodded as if she knew what I was saying, I lit up as I felt an answer coming on.
“I think I know what happened, but I don’t want to make any fast assumptions right now.” Sparkle whispered.

“Well what do you ‘think’ happened then?” Bow asked. Sparkle sighed and swam upwards, she was heading towards the surface, I followed her up, and I found that we were near the beach, all the humans were on the other side.
“What’s going on Sparkle, please tell me!” I pleaded.
“Okay…” She whispered in defeat. The blue tailed mermaid swam closer to the sandy beach and then struggled out of the water.
“What are you doing? You know the humans might see you!” I warned, looking around for anyone else. Sparkle touched her tail and whispered quietly,
    “Human form.”
My eyes widened as my friend’s tail began to light up, then a glow ran down it, from the waist to the fin, then suddenly, there was something else in the tail’s place.

    Legs.

“Oh my goodness!” I gasped, ‘You have legs!” Sparkle smiled at me. “Does that mean… you’re human?”
Sparkle knelt down next to me,
    “I have legs, but I’m still a mermaid. I’m a half- mermaid!”
“What do you mean?” I asked, confused. I didn’t take my eyes off Sparkle.
“Some mermaids get the power to grow legs. And it’s said that some humans may grow tails.” My friend explained.
“So… you think that I’ve been given this new power because I read the strongest story?” I guessed. Sparkle nodded slowly as if she had told me too much. “So… How do you get your tail back?” I asked. Sparkle put both of her feet in the water, and a watery blue glow outlined her legs. Then energy ran down her legs like before, and her fin and tail appeared.
“Put your feet in water.” Sparkle replied simply, moving back into the sea and swimming up to me.
“How do I know if I have this power?” I asked.
    “Just say, human form.”
She replied, “And don’t forget to touch your tail.”
I nodded. “Race you to the seabed!” My friend yelled, diving underwater.

Story: The strongest story part 2

I had just raced Sparkle to the bottom of the ocean, even though I still felt really tired from the book’s effects, I would never turn down an opportunity to race. Suddenly, Bow swam up to me, she had been waiting for me at the bottom of the sea.

“Whoa! What happened out there?” She asked, excited. Sparkle looked at me nervously, she didn’t want anyone to know.
      “Uh… let’s just say… my powers have… changed a bit.” I muttered awkwardly. “I have to go.”

      A few days later

I was swimming with Sparkle over to the coral fields, no one could hear us talking about half – mermaids there. “Um… Sparkle?” I turned to face my friend.
      “What is it?” She replied.
“When you’re in human form… can you breathe underwater?” I asked.

“No. But your powers will still work, and when you put your feet in water you’ll turn back into a mermaid anyway.” Sparkle explained.
“Should we go up and see if I can do it?” I asked
      hopefully.

“You can already… but are you feeling okay? You can’t transform without a good amount of energy.” The blue tailed mermaid told me.
“My powers aren’t strong enough, why can’t you use your storytelling powers?” I asked.

      Sparkle shrugged,
“Okay, lie down.” She told me.
“Why?” I asked, I never recalled Sparkle making me lie down when she used her powers on me beforr.
“Getting rid of the strongest story’s effects can be tricky, so I need to focus.” She replied.

I nodded and laid back on the sand, Sparkle put her hands on my head and began glowing just like I had ever since I read the book. “There once was a mermaid that needed power to transform.” My friend whispered. I felt a bit of power go into me, but the power went into my human form. Sparkle gasped and sank to the ground.

      “You okay?” I asked Sparkle.
“That’s some pretty powerful energy.” She replied, getting to her fin and helping me up too.
“I know…” I giggled slightly, “It’s been quite a lot to handle recently. It’s almost like the power is too much for me.”

“You’ll get used to it.” Sparkle smiled, “Now let’s see how you do on land legs!” I swam up to the surface and dragged myself up onto the sandy beach. The blue tailed mermaid got up onto the sand too.

She then touched her scales and whispered, “Tail to legs!” I watched as her tail transformed into two pale legs that were the same colour as her pale skin.
      I hesitantly followed,
“Tail to legs.” I whispered. My beautiful purple tail suddenly faded away, and instead there were two light brown legs in it’s place.

Sparkle stood up, she offered me a hand, I grabbed onto her hand tight. I didn’t have many problems getting up, but the hard part was balancing on the two little fins that humans call feet.

I had stood up using my tail before, but the water kept me standing. On land it felt like I was really heavy and it was wierd because I felt too heavy to float any higher than the sand.

“This feels wierd.” I told Sparkle, trying to step over to her, but I tripped and I collapsed. Sparkle laughed and looked down at me, I held up my hand. “There once was a half- mermaid that had a tail!”

Sparkle suddenly became clear and turned to water for a second, then she reappeared with her tail and collapsed to the sand. I guessed the water thing was part of my strengthened energy.
“Wha-?” My friend whispered in shock flapping her tail.
“Remember, half mermaids still have their powers!”

After a while, I got the hang of it, I could walk, and Sparkle showed me how to run. I thing being a human is so much fun.

“Alright, let’s go back before anyone sees us. Legs to tail!” My friend announced. Scooting into the water and swimming out to sea. I remembered that half- mermaids can transform when both of their feet touch water. I ran into the sea, an seconds later, I dived underwater, and when I did. My tail was back.

“Sparkle!” I called, as I swam down. I’d actually gotten so used to walking, that I had to retrain myself to swim for a few seconds.
“Eden!” Sparkle whispered, “Do you think you could keep this whole half- mermaid thing a secret?”

“Sure.” I nodded. “See you later.”

It was surrounded by a golden glow, it was really different from any books I’d ever seen, even with my storytelling powers.
“What is that?” I asked, picking up the massive object and flapping my purple tail.
“I wanted to see if you could use your powers on it.” Bow explained.
“Why? What will happen?” I asked.
“It’s said that very few merpeople can read this book, I wondered if you could do it.”
I nodded in response, I touched the front page. I could immediately sense mermagic inside it, it was really strong too. I tapped the cover and shuddered slightly, as a small amount of power shook through me from head to tail.
She was right, I felt like my powers had been upgraded somehow.
“What did the book say?” The angelfish wondered.
“It…” I began, I suddenly felt dizzy again and had to sit down. The book had made me stronger, but in the process had made me feel weak.

    Story: The Playfight

It was early afternoon and I was with Scarlet in the Atlantic Ocean. She had come to visit me since I was a mermaid with a very rare storytelling powers that have me the ability to summon things by using stories. She wanted to test my power against her sword. Whenever I spent time with her, I felt nervous, yet excited.
“Are you ready?” Scarlet asked me, drawing out her sword on the other side of the algae field.
    “Ready.” I mumbled.
I saw Cal at the side of the field, sort of refereeing the playfight. He tapped a rock loudly, and the two of us raced into the centre of the field. Scarlet instantly tried to attack by using her sword she was fast, but my reflexes were faster. I did a mid-sea backflip before landing in a fighting stance. The red tailed mermaid just nodded slowly and then dashed at me again, Scarlet used her tail to whack me when she hit me. I went flying and then ended up doing many somersaults before collapsing to the sand.
“So… dizzy.” I muttered, barely able to focus my vision.
“Ready to give up yet?” Scarlet asked, her arms folded.
“No way.” I protested. As fast as I could, I swam upwards, the redheaded mermaid followed – just as I had planned.
I suddenly yelled, “There once was a mermaid who had lost her energy!”
Suddenly, I saw Scarlet clutch her forehead before falling back and she was heading for the seabed. She managed to regain her balance just before she hit the ground. I darted down to see whether my magic had worked.
“No!” She groaned loudly, sitting up. “I feel really weak all of a sudden!”
I grinned, Scarlet looked up at me.
    “That was me.” I whispered.
Scarlet grinned too, and got up, as if ready to get real. She got her sword and used it to send a blast of energy out at me. It hit me hard, but I tried not to show it by looking confident.
I could tell my frenemy wanted to win, she used her sword to create an extra large bolt of power. It hit me and I was smacked to the seabed again. “I guess you win.” I sighed in defeat. I watched Scarlet gasp and feel her forehead. What was wrong? “Are you okay?” I asked, suddenly, Scarlet fainted. I wondered if my weakness magic was a bit too strong.
I swam to her side and began to work my magic, “There once was a mermaid that needed strength.” I whispered. The mermaid’s eyes fluttered open. Some colour returned to Scarlet’s cheeks as she she sat up.
    “Eden? What happened?”
“My magic hit a bit too hard. How do you feel?” I asked.
“Fine… just a bit tired.” She explained. “My powers hit hard too, you should rest.”
    “You too.”
“Alright. Let’s play next week. Bye.” Scarlet waved.
I had never seen Scarlet like this before. I actually began to wonder if we we’re starting to become friends.
    “Bye! ” I replied.

    All for now Merfriends!

    A mermaid journey part 4!

(Read the other parts to get it)

It was very early and our second day of travelling. Brynn, Serena and I were searching for Cleo. We had gotten the same result that we had gotten over the past few hours. Nothing. I was getting frustrated, and not to mention tired. I was also quite worried about Serena, her scale colours were a bit too washed out for my liking, I guessed that it was because the energy drain magic might be affecting her again. Brynn had given her and I each special medicine petal to eat if we felt lke the magic was getting to us, but knowing Serena, she was saving it. I tapped Serena’s shoulder, she turned to look at me, I smiled at her and placed my petal in her hands.

“Thanks, but I don’t need it.” Serena refused, she tried to put kt back in my hand, but I pulled away.
“Yes you do.” I told her firmly, “My powers still work, but your kaleidoscope doesn’t!”
Serena sighed and held onto it. I nodded to her. “That’s better-”

“Guys!” Brynn interrupted us, I turned to look at her, “Do you feel that?”
“What?” Serena asked, swimming up to the green tailed mermaid.
“The water, it feels different, almost like there’s a current of some sort here.”
I put my hand out to feel the water, it definitely did feel different. Suddenly, I heard something in the distance, it almost sounded like a whirlpool was moving towards us.

“Swim for it!” I heard Brynn yell, I didn’t have to be told twice, I swam as fast as I could, Serena was swimming with Brynn. The whirl pool was coming into view, it looked pretty dangerous. I was pumping my tail really hard, but the current was catching up to us. Suddenly, the worst possible thing happened, the energy drain magic began to take effect.

“BRYNN!” I screamed, the next thing I knew, the whirlpool took me.

I felt myself twisting around inside the current, I felt really dizzy and sleepy (I was probably tired from being up so early). fighting to stay conscious, I called out again, “Brynn! SERENA!” I doubted they could hear me, the whirlpool was so loud that I could barely hear my own voice.

I felt my vision slipping away, but before it did, I saw a something come towards me, it looked like a ball of light,
“EDEN!” I heard two voices yelling back, using my last ounce of strength, I called out,
“YOU TWO GO!” Before I passed out.

When I awoke, I found that it was midmorning, I was actually quite glad that I went unconscious in the whirlpool because now I had gotten some rest. I looked around for Serena and Brynn, but I couldn’t see them anywhere. Suddenly, I heard a groan from behinf a piece of seaweed. I swam over and moved the seaweed out of the way.

I saw the two Mermaidens were asleep in the seaweed, I guess they were just as tired as me. I shook them gently. “Wake up you two!” I whispered. The girls’ eyes both fluttered open, when they saw me they looked pretty excited.
    “You’re awake!” Serena beamed.

“Yeah, how did I get out of that?” I asked.
“I tried to use my light to get uou out,” Brynn explained, “But after that didn’t work, Serena dived in to try and save you.”
I looked down and Serena’s tail, expecting it to be completely drained of it’s colour, but when I saw it, all the colours were brighter than ever. Before I even asked it, she answered it for me.

” Jumping in to help you gave me my kaleidoscope back.” The rainbow mermaid explained, creating a magical ball of colours.
“What about my powers? What will I do?” I turned to Brynn.
“It’s been two days, the effects should be gone by now.”

I nodded, but then froze, I saw something familiar.

“Look!” I pointed ober to a rock, suddenly, I saw a white tail, we all knew what that meant.

    Cleo!

One more part left, all for now,
