“Where was this when I was a kid?” was 13-year-old Lydia’s first reaction to Fin Fun’s mermaid tail. “It’s just cool. I like being a mermaid,” she said. Even though she is a teenager, she loves her mermaid tail.
Most of her friends want to get one too.
In fact, being older has its advantages. Teens are stronger swimmers. They can swim faster and perform more tricks with their monofin and tail.
“I can swim backward and do flips in the water,” Lydia’s sister, Emma, said. “It’s kind of difficult at first, but definitely fun.”

Emma, 15, says the mermaid tails and monofins are fun for every age and level of swimmer. She and Lydia also have a nine-year-old sister, but the teens believe they have just as much fun with their mermaid tails as she does. Maybe even more.
And Emma definitely thinks strong swimmers have an advantage because they can do more.
Lauren, 15, agrees with Emma. “I definitely think older girls can enjoy them more than younger girls because we are better swimmers,” she said after using a tail and monofin for the very first time.
Lauren has been swimming all her life, but she says the mermaid tail brings swimming to a whole new level. “I just love being in the water. It’s really fun for me. It’s just a different way of swimming. I enjoy the monofin.”

Her mother laughs that they live in Southern California, go to the beach once or twice a week all summer, spend a week at Lake Powell every year, and swim in their grandmother’s pool—and yet they come to Idaho and transform into mermaids!
Lauren and her sister Lacey can’t wait to try the mermaid tails back home and show them to their friends. Lacey, 14, especially thinks most of her friends are going to jump on board and get mermaid tails too!
Like many girls, Rachel, 13, always wanted a mermaid tail. She can’t find the words to describe her fascination with mermaids. “It’s just awesome,” she said. “A human fish.”
“I think every child dreams of being a mermaid and when they are older they still have that connection,” she said.
When Rachel wears her mermaid tail to the pool, younger girls flock around her, asking if she is a real mermaid.
Rachel mostly enjoys the attention, but occasionally finds it annoying. “Sometimes you just want to swim,” she said.
She acknowledges that all people are different and a few might be embarrassed by the attention, while others might especially like the attention of being a mermaid.
But no matter the age, all the girls agree transforming into a mermaid is a magical experience!

well you could look at the safety and reviews and ask her why she thinks that and be sure to listen to what she says and ask her to listen to why you want 1 and be sure to ask her when shes not busy and when shes in a good mood. you could start the conversation like this “mom is this a good time i was wondering if we could talk about why you think fin fun mermaid tails are a waste of money” and if she declines say “i know that you think its a waste but could we just look at the site and read the reviews together and then you can tell me please”. hope this helps!

OMG! I’m only nine but I feel really good for those teens! My mermaid tail is Arriving tomorrow! It’s Aussie green and I’m half Australian plus I love animals and i am really outgoing and I love sea turtles so I’m basically exactly like the Mermaiden Zoey!

Give them ways you will use it, even if you don’t have constant access to water. Maybe you’ll use it to relax in the tub, or make a YouTube show. Tell them! Get them on you side with real reasons and facts, so you sound mature and justified.

wow!!!!! too bad my sister doesn’t want anything to do with mermaids:( we could both buy a mermaid tail and we could swim together! but she is not at all a mermaid fan:( since i live a minute away from the beach, i could swim in there (if i was daring enough. the water is really cold. i might just swim in the public swimming pool down the road:P).

I screamed when I saw my mermaid tail when mom and dad took me to church the first prayer I did was “Dear God please make me a mermaid, Amen” OUT LOUD to every one in church butt then again I was only like a couple years old I think I was two or maybe three but I still go my wish! : )

Yeah, I’ve been saving up for this tail. I have tried to make one myself, but… it faded and I lost it, { no idea how i lost it…} I love mermaids, and fin fun is a cheap [ well cheaper than other types,}, and good, sturdy tail. Im very exited to get one.

Haha! Well I love the tails. I’ve dreamt of being a mermaid since I was like 2. I have a sister who has the same dream. I was the one who introduced her to this website; at first I didn’t think that she would get so attached to the tails, but I was wrong hahaha. She is always talking about them.
We picked which tails we want to get and we even measured the sizes and everything. The only thing left to do is to convince mom and dad that the tails are not “useless” and are not “a rip off”. We read almost all the reviews to them and showed them most of the videos. Let’s just hope that they are convinced hahahaha! ♥

OHHH! I hope you get a tail! You’ve been dreaming for a long, long time! I’m 17 now, and I just loved everything about mermaid for as long as I can remember! Where I live, backyard pools arn’t really the usual thing, mostly public pools. I would be too shy to swim in public in a tail! But still, I really, really would love a mermaid tail!
Which tails did you and you’re sister choose? I think I might have my eye on the one coming out soon! In the video it looks so beautiful!
