Hi there! I’m not really sure how to begin. So, I guess I’ll just start at the beginning. My name is Crystal, Mermaiden of the Arctic Ocean. My kingdom is way up north where it’s very, very cold.
My father is king of the Arctic Ocean, so that makes me a princess. But I’m pretty shy so I don’t really like all the attention I get. But I’m happy that I get to be the one who talks to you humans!
I’ve heard that some oceans are so warm that people come from far away just to swim in them. Is that true? I don’t see a lot of human people in my homesea.
My finfriend Pepper, he’s a penguin—I know, I know, penguins don’t usually live in the Arctic Ocean. It’s a long story—I’ll tell you about him later. Anyway, Pepper and I like to make giant ice castles to explore and play on. Well, technically I make the ice castles and Pepper just plays on them. You see, each Mermaiden princess is born with a special power to bless her kingdom with—mine is creating ice.
It’s a pretty neat power now that I’ve learned to control it. I can make sculptures and towers and all kinds of ice creations!
When I was 15 I got to travel with my father to the North Atlantic Ocean and meet with the royal family that rules that seadom. The princess there is named Brynn. She’s the royal Mermaiden of the Celtic Sea, so I’m sure you’ll get to meet her, too. She is great! She has crazy red hair, emerald green eyes and lots of freckles. Oh and she has a finfriend seal who is so funny and cute! Anyway, she and I totally have a blast whenever we’re together. I create huge ice sculptures and she uses her power to make them glow!
Oh, so I was going to tell you about how I found Pepper. Well, as you must know, penguins aren’t from around here. They mostly live in Antarctica which is far away in the seas near the south pole. So you can imagine how surprised I was when I found a tiny little penguin all alone floating on a piece of metal near the human ship docks. He was so small and sick, I just knew he needed me. So I sculpted a little ice boat for him to rest in while I towed him back to my castle. Mermom and Merdad didn’t think he would survive without penguin parents to take care of him, but I mashed up krill and sardines into little bits he could swallow and fed him by hand. Soon he was growing fast and catching fish all on his own.
He’s a great little finbuddy, but he has one problem you should probably know about. He thinks he’s a bird. Well, I guess he kind of is a bird, but he thinks because he has wings he should be able to fly like the puffins and seagulls and other arctic birds. I’ve tried and tried to tell him his wings aren’t really meant for flying—but he just won’t believe me! He always seems to be in some kind of trouble, jumping off castle ledges and rocks and well…everything.
He’s pretty silly, but he’s my Pepper and I love him anyway.
So, that’s me. I’m so excited to get to share my world with you.

There is a tv show called H20 just add water. I don’t know if it is in Netflix but all the seasons and episodes are on youtube. It was what first got me addicted to mermaids. I highly recommend giving it a try. I hope you will try it and love it as much as I did!

Its such a lovely tail and I wish my b day wasn’t in fall but I don’t care I’m going to have a mermaid theamed birthday party if my mom says yes I’ll do it at the YMCA my nanny promised me she’d get this one but if she doesn’t oh how I’ll cry and a mermaid tail monofin and a bikkini top and bottom is what I asked for ahhhhhhh! I want a tail! I always wanted one…I kept asking my dad and he always said “When you get older.” I still don’t have I hope I get one soon! I can’t enter…I want to but then I don’t because that’ll be a lot of work. Thanks for making girls dreams come true, either younger or older, But, Thank you!
